According to information from Stadsmissionen (Swedish volountary organization) there are around 5000 homeless people in Stockholm. 80% of homeless men and 63% of homeless women are addicted to drugs or alcohol. The percentage of homeless people suffering from psychological illness has increased from 17% in 1993 to 45% in 1999.
